In case a Synaptics Click- / Secure Pad is replaced with a Amira Click- / Secure Pad (which has a FocalTech Fingerprint Reader installed), it is necessary to execute the below described USB based update tool in order to support the Amira Click- / Secure Pad properly.

If the USB based update tool is not executed on units, where the Synaptics Click- / Secure Pad has been replaced with a Amira Click- / Secure Pad, Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA) and Single Sign On (SSO) or BIOS Clear Fingerprint data will not work.

In order to support Amira Click- / Secure Pads, please follow the below described steps:

1. Download USB based Update Tool
   
   Please download the USB based Update Tool from the following location:
     File Download:

2. Create and run USB based Update Tool
   
   1. Prepare a USB flash drive (size 8GB or more)
   2. Insert the USB flash drive to a PC and format it, using FAT32 file system:
      
      
      
      
   3. Extract all files from FingerprintReaderUpdateTool_v2_20220609.zip and copy to USB flash drive
   4. Connect the USB disk to target machine
   5. Boot the machine and press F12 to select boot from USB disk
   6. Tool will execute automatically
   7. If everything is correct, below window will displayed with green color of background. Press any key to shut the machine down.
      
      
      
      
   8. If any error happened, below window will be displayed.
      
      
      
      
   9. In normal case, press power button to start machine.
   10. Logon system with the account which has administrator privilege.
   11. Below TC packages running window may appear seconds and disappear automatically.
       
       
       
       
   12. Please wait around 10~30 sec to make driver installation completed.
   13. Check device manager that target device driver is installed.

   14. Recommend to reboot the machine after all installation completed.
       
       
       
3. Make sure to update the BIOS version of your PC
