Security Vulnerability Fix for Bluetooth ACPI Driver TOSRFEC.SYS and DRFEC.SYS

ISSUE


A security vulnerability has been identified in the Bluetooth ACPI driver installed on certain PC models manufactured by TOSHIBA/Dynabook between 2017 and April 2022.

 


RESOLUTION | Short

 

The recommended solution is to update the driver to version v11.0.2.3 or later !

Portege Serie

 

Satellite Pro Serie

 

Available Update Options:

Installation Instructions:

Automatic update via Windows Update: The installation is handled automatically. No further action is required.
Manual update (direct link or website):

Installing the update automatically replaces the old driver file TOSRFEC.SYS with the updated version DRFEC.SYS. 

 

Important Information about the Driver Update:

The drivers TOSRFEC.SYS and DRFEC.SYS were originally included in the Dynabook System Driver packages.
These System Driver packages are still available on our website. However, installing them after applying this security update will not affect your systems security.
The updated driver (version 11.0.2.3 or later) has a newer version number. Windows will automatically keep the secure, updated version and will not replace it with an older one
.
